We're so proud of our local authors!
Pittsburghers Sally Hobart Alexander and Robert Alexander have a new book out.
She Touched The World: Laura Bridgman, Deaf-Blind Pioneer is the compelling biography of teacher, writer, and innovator Laura Bridgman. As a young child, Bridgeman lost her hearing, sight, and most of her sense of smell. She learned to speak and to read. She became a beloved celebrity and an inspirational educator.
The Alexanders' book lets us get to know Laura Bridgman. We see Laura as a child, a student, a teacher, and as a creative and caring individual. We also see what her life and accomplishments have meant for generations of students.
